Title Animal Care Technician - Dog Specialist
Status Part Time (16 hours per week), Weekend work required
Overview The animal care technician is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of the dog kennels and isolation pens. Cattery and medical cages are a weekend responsibility. In addition, the technician carries out early morning feeding, watering and turn out of all dogs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Feed and water animals in facility with a primary focus on dogs
Begin turn out of dogs in day pens
Disinfect and clean all dog housing
Sweep, dust and pick up as needed in aisle ways
Clean cattery including cages, litter boxes and floors
Clean Medical Room cages when needed
Minor repairs and facility maintenance
Overseeing volunteers who assist with any ATC tasks
Qualifications Veterinary or Shelter Clinic experience preferred General knowledge of small animal care and behavior General knowledge of repair and maintenance Excellent organization skills Self-directed High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements Ability to stand for four or more hours Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance
